Extreme sound requirements with design challenges
Metropolitan Equipment Group (MEG) was asked by a local consulting firm to help develop a concept that could meet the challenges of a radio station that had extremely challenging sound requirements. Additionally, the ceiling was a low profile plenum adding to the design complexity. After analyzing the existing building’s challenges it was determined to use a modified Nailor Industries Fan Powered Dedicated Outside Air (DOAS) Terminal system that could maximize cooling capacity, while fitting in the constraints of a low profile plenum ceiling. The development included a visit to the factory to hear a mocked up unit operated in the Energistics sound lab in Houston, TX.
