Malone Hall will house the recently announced Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute, which was created to spearhead a national effort to equip the U.S. Department of Defense with lighter, more protective armor. Due to the challenging pressurization, sound and thermal requirements, the consultant chose Nailor underfloor products to properly distribute the air to achieve thermal comfort while meeting the stringent sound standards. Phoenix lab controls and Aerovent (Twin City) fans were chosen to manage the tight pressurization requirements.
