The United States Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) is the nation’s leading science and technology laboratory in the area of medical chemical countermeasures. The facility will house about 300 employees who will be involved in developing, testing, and evaluating medical treatments and materials to prevent and treat casualties of chemical warfare. Metropolitan Equipment Group and Phoenix Controls provided design assistance, construction support and technical support for the implementation of highly toxic chemical research. The Phoenix Control system provides control of the temperature, humidity and pressure containment of these critical spaces. Due to the highly complex nature of this system, Metropolitan Equipment Group was instrumental in providing project technical assistance in response to the many issues that were encountered.
