Phoenix Air Controls explains the steps healthcare facilities can take to design HVAC systems that would allow for the creation of isolation rooms for highly contagious patients. Airborne precautions must include “placing patients in negative pressure rooms (airborne infection isolation rooms) or areas.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises “isolation of all persons with confirmed or probable pandemic influenza” in order to “delay the exponential growth in incident cases.”
